Foods with a high content of Iron

Ikan pusu (with head and entrails)

Dried prines/raisins, peanuts (without shell), other nuts

Dried beans (red, green, black, chickpeas, dhal)

Dark green leafy vegetables - bayam, spinach, kailan, cangkok manis, kangkung, sweet potato shoots, ulam leaves, soya bean sprouts, bitter gourd, paku. midin, parsley

2. Foods allowed
Foods with moderate amount of iron
Chicken, pork allow one small serving a day (2 matchbox size)
Soya bean curd (towkwa, towhoo, hookee) allow one serving only (one piece)
Light colour vegetables (sawi, cabbage, long beans and other beans, ketola, lady's fingers) 1-2 servings a day (1/2 cup)
Ikan pusu (head and entrails removed)    
Onions use moderately  
Oats    



Foods with small amount of iron
Rice and Noodles
Bread, biscuits
Starchy Root vegetables (carrot, yam, tapioca, pumpkin, bangkwang, lobak)
Fish (all varieties)
Fruits (all varieties except dried fruits)
Milk, cheese
Oils and fats
